3 MILLION METERS OF DRILL CORE SAMPLES FROM 18 000 DRILL HOLES COLLECTED IN MALÅ

Geophysical samples have been collected by SGU (Geological Survey of Sweden) since 1858. Analyses of drill cores have been made throughout the years, and this archive is attracting visitors from all over the world, being an invaluable center of research. This massive collection of core drill samples contributes to the understanding of regional minerals, bedrock and last but not least our environment.

“Guideline Geo’s interest in the subsurface is, in this case, reflected by our rental of the expanded drill core premises to SGU. We are proud to be part of the build-up of Europe’s largest (10 000 m2) drill core archive”, says Mikael Nolborg, CEO, Guideline Geo.

The inauguration of the premises took place the other day with great fanfare, just nearby the Guideline Geo production facilities in Malå, Sweden.
