Workshop: Improving your electrical resistivity results from survey planning through to data visualization and reporting
May 25th, 10:00am – 2:00pm EDT
Level: Advanced
This workshop on electrical resistivity and induced polarisation is suitable for people with some knowledge of geophysics who have already undertaken or been involved in projects utilizing, resistivity survey. It starts with a very rapid recap of theory, but focusing on those fundamentals which are key to collecting good data. This will include the most common mistakes made, drawing upon many years’ experience of ABEM technical support. The principles of 1D, 2D, 3D and time-lapse measurements, their advantages and necessary considerations to make will all be covered. Some case studies from application areas including engineering, environment, groundwater and minerals will illustrate the presentation. The workshop will move from theory to looking at real data and introducing some of the practical aspects of QA (quality assurance) plus a brief look at data processing steps we can undertake to ensure production of the best possible final model, such as applying topography, constraining the models and choosing the best inversion settings.
Who is this for: Those with some experience of geophysical methods who have potentially used resistivity but want to consolidate their knowledge and skills and become a more confident, independent user of the method.
Where: All courses offered virtually! Link will be provided via email upon payment
