MALÅ GPR help uncover new insights into one of Greece’s most significant archaeological sites

This was shared in the new research: “Geophysical Investigation for the Location of Unearthed Components at the Sanctuary of Poseidon in Isthmia, Greece” with Michael Arvanitis from Guideline Geo as corresponding author.

Using MALÅ GPR (ground-penetrating radar), the Michigan State University Isthmia project explored the Sanctuary of Poseidon in Isthmia to better understand its layout with minimal physical intervention.

GPR continues to prove its value as a powerful tool, combining ease of use, high-resolution data, and compatibility with other methods. The research highlights the effectiveness of GPR in archaeology and using non-destructive methods for uncovering hidden historical data.
