The University of Stavanger has investigated a Viking burial site using solutions and guidance from Guideline Geo. Data indicates that it might be a ship burial but results will not be confirmed until more investigations have been made. This latest discovery was made at Karmøy, Norway. Finding a buried Viking ship is not easy and does not happen often. If confirmed, this is not the first time a Viking ship has been discovered using Guideline Geo MALÅ MIRA technology. It is the unique sensitivity of the Guideline Geo ground penetrating radar array that is revolutionizing large scale archaeology. MALÅ MIRA is the only GPR technology in the world having made discoveries of buried Viking ships in Norway.
“We are very excited to see the continuous success of our unique MALÅ technology for mapping the subsurface. Guiding our customers to great results motivates us to keep innovating and improving our solutions. The multiple discoveries during the last couple of years confirms that our MALÅ MIRA systems are ideal for large scale surveying such as Archaeology.”, says Anders Abrahamsson, CTO, Guideline Geo
